A word from Melissa
Why Christian Counseling?
As
a counselor I should reflect
the evidence of Christ in my
own life and be genuine and
transparent. Counseling
should not be based on
situational ethics, but on
Biblical principles.
Counseling should be
practical and not
hyperspiritual; not critical
or judgmental, but
compassionate. It should
have a commitment to action
with measurable results.
Counsel should be given with
the right attitude, it
should be gentle not
contentious. As a counselor
I should be approachable and
easily entreated and
encouraging. But most
importantly my words should
not be tainted by
worldliness or selfish gain,
but based on God's Word.
